The answer to what do you think this is?

Below is an abstract shot created using the posterization filter on my pentax kr slr.
See if you can guess what it is?
I welcome comments and guesses.

It is a stick insect from Northern Australia.
A relative was given a male and female in Renmark South Australia and before she knew it
 they had baby ones every where.
This pic was taken through the side of a small aquarium which was sitting on a table.
The pics weren't so good so I made a posterised version.
The insects are feeding on eucalyptus leaves.
